Built-in Cabinetry

Presented here is an overview of the various built-in cabinetry projects I have been commissioned to make, from a single bookcase for an odd wall to a complete wall to wall, floor to ceiling cabinetry system.  All the work is produced in my shop with minimal site work.  Built-in projects usually require that function determines the form, but I always design a project mindful of the existing decor and furnishings of the room aiming to make the project appear as if it had always been there.

Cherry breakfront dining room cabinet, 14 feet, that takes up the entire wall.

Curly maple office/library custom made to fit this wall space using the customer's favorite wood.

Here is a look at some of the detail that went into the cabinetry including a view of the milk
painted beaded back adding a nice contrast to the figured maple.  Also note the old way of
presenting adjustable shelving using a ratcheted wooden system to allow shelf positioning.

These are but a few of the pieces I made for this home renovation and addition for a seaside home in Maine.
The design and drawings were produced by Steve Chamberlain (www.chamberlaindesigns.com).  The installation and finish carpentry was handled by Kent Whitten (www.whittendesigns.com).  My thanks to
both of them.

Painted kitchen cabinetry for an 18th century country period home, complimenting the original woodwork
and detail of the room, utilizing all available space.  This kitchen features furniture style base cabinets a
wood paneled dishwasher and dovetailed drawers using modern drawer slides.  In the foreground is a heavy,
two drawer work table.  None of this will be found in your local kitchen showroom.
